Midwest Integration & Automation was founded in 2007 by Bruce Hayes — working out of the family home in Wadsworth, alongside his wife Liz and her sister Sue. It was the worst recession of a lifetime and the least obvious moment to start a business, but the automation industry needed what Bruce believed in: honest engineering and undivided attention.
Nearly two decades later, we've grown to over 100 employees across three Ohio facilities totaling 55,000+ square feet. Bruce and Liz's sons Dan and Sam are now President and Senior Electrical Engineer. In late 2025 we welcomed Comtec Inc. into the family, expanding our integration capabilities at our Twinsburg location.
We've grown, but the values haven't changed. We deliver efficient, cost-effective, high-quality solutions — with the technical depth of a large competitor and the responsiveness of a family-run shop.
What we do

Midwest Integration & Automation works hard to provide solutions that add value to our customers' needs. This simple philosophy has blossomed into a business unit that supplies custom panel solutions ranging from single one-offs to large-scale production runs.

Midwest Integration & Automation works with over 30 manufacturers to distribute, stock, and technically support high-tech automation equipment for our customers. What separates us from the competition is our experienced, factory-trained engineering staff that exists to support our customer base.
Midwest is also a member of the Association for High Technology Distribution (AHTD), keeping us ahead of national trends in automation.
